This piece is being sold as a damaged item, solely for spares or repair. It is being sold as photographed, with holes, losses and damage.  It is for repair / restoration, or perhaps just to add to a collection.  I have not attempted to clean in, instead leaving that decision to the winning bidder. 

I have included a number of photos and these probably describe the item better than I can and form part of the description. The ruler and cotton reel are not part of the listing, but there just to give an idea as to size / perspective.

Condition: This item is in vintage condition and is being sold in 'as photographed' condition.  The piece has holes, pulls, tears, chain loss, corrosion, discolouration, wear, marks and knocks. For accuracy,  the clasp does NOT snap shut and is loose. It does have a metallic / musty odour, commensurate with age / storage.  IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR AN EXAMPLE IN PERFECT CONDITION, THIS PIECE WILL DEFINITELY NOT FIT INTO THAT CATEGORY, HENCE THE REASON IT IS BEING SOLD SOLELY FOR SPARES OR REPAIR.  I have taken a number of photos which, in addition to forming part of the description, are there to allow potential bidders the opportunity to make their own assessment.

Packing - I pack to ensure the item arrives with you undamaged. If you have specific packing instructions, please contact me before paying as this may have an impact on the price, as both an increase in weight or size can increase the cost of delivery.

I do try to recycle boxes and other materials wherever possible and will sometimes use newspaper for padding out, if it does not have any impact on the cost of postage.
