Advantages of Banana Leaf in Aquarium:

Banana leaves are used as a botanical in blackwater and shrimp tanks. They release beneficial tannins and are also a food source for micro Organism and invertebrates such as shrimp and snails. Persimmon, oak, guava, mulberry, magnolia, and loquat leaves are some other aquarium-friendly botanicals.

Simply put the leaves into your aquarium. After 1-3 days, once the leaves are completely soaked, they will be water-logged and sink. Apart from their beneficial effects on the water, they will tan the water slightly (to a clear amber) and providing a very natural stream-bottom look to your tank.

Some other benefits are:

 Reduction of pH to benefit plants and fish/shrimp

Helps to relieve stress

Helps cure fish and shrimp skin due to anti bacterial properties

Helps stop the growth of bacteria

Stimulates colours on fish and shrimp

We recommend one leaf per 20L of water. Once the leaf decomposes replace. If trying to breed shrimp, use 3-4 leaves per 20L and leave in the aquarium until the shrimp have consumed the leaf.

Note:- Rinse all leaves before placing in aquarium.
