45mm are recommended for beginners. 50mm Kashakas are large and will be a difficult size for most beginners to play and learn with.
The Kashaka Pro® are designed to have a good balance between shake & click sounds when played with correct Kashaka techniques, and a smooth & precise shake sound when played as regular shakers. Kashaka Pro® were developed in UK by a professional percussionist & experienced Kashaka player (see videos) - Kashaka UK make genuine professional quality Kashaka Pro instruments - these are high quality strong playable instruments which will not break when played. Great for use as regular shakers too, with crisp sound & precise playability, suitable for performance, recording, workshops etc. The plastic used has shock absorbing qualities, which softens the sound, making it closer to natural gourd sound, unlike the hard ABS plastic versions, which have a harsh, unpleasant clack noise and can hurt the ears if played for long. The shock absorpsion also means that Kashaka Pro won't break if dropped. In comparison, ABS plastic is hard and brittle & can crack when playing or if dropped.
