The Story: Phil and Kate, a young couple having their first child, are too busy to take care of the baby. They decide to enlist the services of a nanny - and eventually welcome Camilla (Seagrove) into their family. She's the perfect nanny - sweet and loving, but it seems that Camilla isn't quite all she claims to be. Their baby is being groomed for an ultimate union with an ancient tree!

Comment: The Guardian is William Friedkin's return to the horror genre - basically a Celtic chiller that will make you think twice the next time you drive by an Ancient Order of Druids club. While, the climax of this film is extremely violent and blood-soaked, Friedkin uses the whole film to build the tension. Consider the sequence in which the architect is trapped in his own house, while blood-thirsty coyotes lurk outside his window (it's L.A... sorry, no wolves were available - only coyotes). This film has all the trademarks of William Friedkin, who brought us The Exorcist:  gritty, earthy, and atmospheric. The underlying feeling of uneasiness keeps you teetering on the edge. A great watch for fans of Gothic horror.

Per the label, the film running time is 92 minutes - the longest and best print of this film available. The film is presented in widescreen 1.85:1 format with English audio. This movie-on-demand MOD archive title on recorded media is new and factory sealed. The DVD disc is Region 1, NTSC format, specifically designed to play on DVD players in North America. It may not play on a PlayStation or similar game device.
