The Story: Childhood friends, dominant Helene and submissive Lucie, are now in their thirties and married. Nostalgic about their youth, they take a bonding car trip through the French countryside, while discussing their real and made up sexual experiences.

Comment: The 'voyage' in this film immerses the viewer in the world of two talkative yet strangely inarticulate female friends. The viewer follows where the voyage leads, basking in the summer sunlight of the French countryside. There are answers but the questions themselves are ambiguous and contradictory. Chaplin and Sanda, both superb actors, bring both stunning intensity and vulnerability to their roles. Fans of French cinema will not be disappointed.

Per the label, the running time is 95 minutes. The film is presented in letter boxed widescreen format with French audio (only) and optional English subtitles. This movie-on-demand MOD archive title on recorded media is new and factory sealed. The DVD disc is Region 1, NTSC format, specifically designed to play on DVD players in North America. It will probably not play on a PlayStation or similar game device.
