I've been making wireless remote adapters since 2006 with more than 1500 units shipped worldwide. I am an electrical engineer and started making unit for Nakamichi cassette decks for people on the NakTalk email list. Over the years my customers have asked me to make similar units for other models and brands of audio gear. I now make over 15 models of remote adapters for 13 different brands (Aiwa, Akai, Alesis, Ampex, Crown, Nakamichi, Otari, Pioneer, Revox, Studer, Tandberg, Tascam, Teac and Technics). I typically sell through eBay, but, low volume models are only sold direct. If you don't see a remote adapter for your equipment ask me, I might have one already. After getting multiple requests for a wireless remote adapter for Tascam BR-20 it's finally ready. This unit uses the same proved design from my other wireless adapter with a few tweaks to make it work with the Tascam BR-20, MSR-16, MSR-24 and TSR-8. This unit to supports Tascam decks that use the DB-37 connector labeled "Accessory 1" on the back.

Plug this adapter into the Accessory 1 connector on the back of your Tascam BR-20, MSR-16, MSR-24 or TSR-8 deck and be able to control it from across the room with any universal remote (preprogrammed universal remote is included). Up to four remote receivers can be used in the same room without interaction (by configuring internal jumpers for different remote codes). Power for the remote adapter is supplied by the deck. No AC adapter required.

This unit plugs into the DB-37 pin Accessory 1 connector on the back of the deck (not the connector labeled Remote Control) and will allow the deck to be controlled from any universal remote programmed for Sony VCR (VHS, Beta, 8mm or Laser Disc). Comes with a universal remote programmed to control the Tascam wireless adapter (remote may be different that the one pictured above).

What functions can I control? You can control the 5 standard transport functions: Play, stop, record, fast forward and rewind.

Can I control more than one deck? Yes, there is a jumper inside for selecting Sony Beta VCR, VHS VCR, 8mm VCR and Laser Disc. Up to four units can be located in the same area and controlled independently.

Can I use my own remote? Yes, the wireless adapter responds to Sony VCR codes that are available on every universal remote I have ever tested. It is probably the most common device. There is nothing special about the included remote. I just buy them look up the code in the book for Sony VCR and program that code in.

Included universal remote come with batteries and is already setup and tested to work with the receiver so you can be up and running in minutes.
