New improved resin formula, our gears are now stronger, more durable and less brittle.

New improved tooth profile 3D printed replacement for Mainline Warship Final Drive Gears. Condition is "New".

Listing is for a pair of gears to replace both final drive gears.

Please note. The mainline Warship axle does not have any positive location or spline to grip the gear. Gear has been manufactured to be a tight fit on the axle, but we recommend bonding the gear in place with a small amount of super glue once the correct position has been determined. If the gear is too tight to fit on your axle, please run a 2mm drill through the centre hole. Forcing the gear onto the shaft will split the gear. You will  need a wheel back to back gauge to correctly adjust the wheel positions on the axle after fitting the gears.  The original Mainline final drive gear was a double gear, but the smaller diameter gear is unused in the final drive position and so we have omitted this to simplify the replacement gear.

These gears have been endurance tested without lubricant, please do not apply and lubricant as it may damage the base material and is unnecessary.

The Mainline Warship model is over 35 years old. There are no drawings available for the gears. We have reverse engineered these gears and tested them in a locomotive for in excess of 70 hours, however, it is not possible to determine how much wear there is in the drive train of the test loco, or how much wear there is in a customers loco drive train, but we believe these gears will fit and run in any Mainline Warship.

Please do not order if you don't have the necessary skills to fit this item. We offer a fitting service with inclusive return postage, please see our other listings.

A level of mechanical competence is required to fit the gears. If you are unsure of the method of fitting, securing, and re-setting the wheel back to back distance, then please speak to us and we can offer a gear fitting and loco testing service.
