Mella tree is slow growing small tree grows up to 3 – 4 meters in height and rarely occurs naturally or cultivated tree mostly in wet zone in the low country. Leaves of the “Mella” are edible & use as a crisp.
Way of making
1. Heat the Oil.
2. Put the Mella Kola into the heated oil.
3. Remove it from oil after a few seconds. (Fry until green)
4. Then sprinkle some salt with fried Malla Kola & serve with rice if desired, fry the onion & chilli & serve with it. (Heat oil & fry like Papadam.)
