For sale is an unusual coin silver pocket card case, possibly a
double picture frame, monogrammed “Anne”.
The case is 3 3/4 inches long by 2 1/2 inches wide by ½ inch thick and
weighs 47 grams. It is hinged at the
bottom and has a sliding clasp at the top.
The top is decorated with engraved scrolls, and the back with
engine-turning. It is monogrammed “Anne”
in a reserve on the lid. Both sides of
the interior have pinned frames around the edge, which makes we think it was
intended for photographs. It might have
been an early compact as well. There are
no marks of any kind.
Condition on the case is fair. There is considerable wear and minor dings,
as well as some small corroded spots. An
unusual old case!
