Up for bid is a Connecticut coin silver salt shovel by Root & Chaffee.  The spoon is 4 1/8 inches long and weighs 9 grams. The spoon has a shovel-shaped bowl, no drop, rounded shoulders and an upturned fiddle handle. The spoon is monogrammed “MJL” on the handle front.  It is marked [?][ROOT & CHAFFEE][Eagle]. 

Condition on the spoon is good.  There is just normal wear of use.  An interesting coin silver salt spoon.
