Fresh organic seed. Collected from our very own dahlia, all of which were grown from seed. 

These produce a huge array of different colours and styles. leaf colour, stem colour and plant height all vary, the flowers come in all shapes and sizes and colours. 

I love growing these from seed, the anticipation of what will come up is fantastic. The photos show just a few examples of this years flowers. 

Sowing is simple, in pots in a greenhouse or cold frame any time of year (but colder months can cause delayed germination). protect from slugs when young. 

pot on as they grow and plant out in spring/summer, they will flower the same year. so simple. Best in full sun or part shade in moist but free draining soils in sheltered location.
