once the red charging light goes off,  the gps is charged. this is a newer model, It's doesn't turn green like the older models. you can check the battery level on main screen. if your trying to use the gps without being plugged in, please don't buy. the battery is new and works great. the gps comes with a stylus for the touch screen. please use it. it makes it a lot easier to navigate. the screen is a captive screen. not like a iphone sceen. great gps. no international shipping.
