Antique French Estanier In Louis XV Style
Offering for sale this exceptional and rare Estanier crafted in the region of Marseille in southern France, circa 1880.
These would have originally been used as a hanging shelf to hold a pewter collection and decorative pieces.
The Estanier features two scalloped shelves across the front with beautiful carved detail, the top has five turned decorative finials and the cabinet stands on small escargot feet. Solid wood painted in rustic muted tones of green with gold highlights.
Profusely carved, original and full of old charm. Fine craftsmanship with exquisite detail. The hanging display cabinet is in excellent condition throughout boasting a gorgeous original timeworn patina, for the ultimate French look it could be used on a wall, freestanding or resting over a buffet.
