Ancona
(Ancona)
Es handelt sich hierbei um eine originale, kolorierte Kupferstich-Ansicht Anconas von Matthäus Merian aus dem Jahr 1640.
English description:
This is a very detailed and decorative engraving that shows a birds-eye view of the city of Ancona with the harbour, it's major buildings, churches and fortifications. The engraving is enriched by a key that names the 33 most important buildings, a windrose and many ships. It was published by Matthäus Merian in 1640, measures 22 x 34 cm (platesize) and is in good condition. There is some light browning due to age and an unobtrusive crinkle from the printing process in the lower left corner. It derives from the "Topographia Italiae"
