Guava has a generally broad, low-calorie profile.  It contains about four times the amount of vitamin C as orange. The health benefits of guava include the treatment of diarrhea, dysentery, constipation, cough, skincare, high blood pressure, weight loss and scurvy.

Growing from seeds, it has strong root system and will grow very fast. It will bloom and bear fruits in two years. The plant is expected to begin producing flowers and fruits next year if your garden and weather condition is good enough for it and the life of it will last for about 40 years.
Guava grows well in full sun but partial shade is beneficial.  Moist is helpful for guava to grow. The guava tree will grow as tall as 8’ and about 8’ wide. It can be also planted in pots.

Flowers bloom in late spring with white flowers. It is self-pollinate and fruit develops in a few months. It may be multiple fruiting and flowering seasons throughout the year, depending on local climate conditions.

In southern California, fruits begin ripen from Sept when the weather cools down and last to end of year. Fertilizing is needed in spring and while flowers blooming, fruits from this variety will be as big as up to the weight over 20 OZ as showing in the picture. The fruits are pear like, green until ripen. The inside of fruit is snow white and task crunchy or crispy. It can be fresh eaten or included in fruit salads. Fruits from this variety have less sugar. It is a healthy fruits for those can not take much sugar.
Because of its high level of pectin, guava fruits are extensively used to make candies, preserves, jellies, jams, and marmalade (such as Brazilian Goiabada and Colombian and Venezuelan bocadillo, and as a marmalade jam served on toast.
