Antique Walnut & Cast Iron Blacksmith-Made Horse Tail Docker - Veterinary Use ​

This is an antique tail docker made from walnut and cast iron.

This tail docker has been hand-made by a blacksmith

A great addition to any veterinary collection

 
'Horses, especially those used for hunting, often had their tails cut off
(DOCKED) to stop them from getting muddy. Both the mud and the removal of the tail stopped the horse from flicking flies off their back. Tail cropping became illegal so now, during a hunt, some horsetails are platted.'
