Vintage
fold-out
color-lithographed railway
map of the Osaka-Nara-Kyoto-Nagoya area of Japan, with schedule of service
in 1940, during the year-long celebration of A.D. 2600.
- It opens to 39 x 54 cm [15¼"
x 21¼"] and includes
a legend key and an inset of the Kashihara Jingu grounds, with the
mausoleum of
Emperor Jimmu.
- The era after the enthronement of Emperor Jimmu is
colloquially known as the Japanese imperial year or "national calendar
year," based on the legendary foundation of Japan in
660 BC.
- On the reverse side there are photographs and
descriptions of various
shrines and points of interest.
- Condition: The map is in very good, lightly used
condition. It folds to approximately 7½" x 4" and is complete and
intact, with minor wear and a hand-printed notation
by a previous owner. Please see the
scans and feel free to ask any
questions.
- Buy with confidence! We are always happy to combine
shipping on the
purchase of multiple items — just make sure to pay for everything
at one time, not individually.
