Vintage Japanese Koransha Dual Handle Peacock Birds Porcelain Vase.

Beautiful cobalt blue porcelain vase with dual decorative handles measuring approximately 6.50” tall x 5” wide-(mid section), 3.50” wide (mouth), 3” wide (base). The gold trim is worn in areas. The piece is free from cracks, chips and crazing. The vase is blue on the interior and exterior with a pair of peacocks among florals in metallic colors. Gold, green, red and silver make up the colors in the vases artwork. Koransha began in the 1870’s in Japan as a blending of the traditional porcelain styles of old Imari. This new combined styled porcelain won The Us Grand Prix of Porcelain in 1876 and a Gold Medal in Paris for international porcelain in 1878. This is a timeless pattern and form. This piece was obtained along with another piece of Koransha from a very elderly person who was the original owner. The paper insert that was inside the vase went missing during travel. I have inserted a photo of the original booklet that had accompanied the piece and since has gone missing. D-16
