This late 1800s box has advertising for Mason’s Boot Polish under the lid and the front of the box would have had Mason’s Blacking with graphics.  The folk-art decoration is initialed and dated 1938. The paint is in good condition with a strong craquelure surface. There are small marks, stains, and fading overall. The interior paper label shows losses and wear.  The box is sturdy for use and display. Please look at the photographs as they are considered part of the description.
I guarantee it to be old and as described.
