"A Topical Study of the Bible, Systematically Arranged for Home and Private Study", in a solid, attractive, and very ornate leather binding, this volume of "Bible Readings for the Home Circle" is undated and from the style and good quality of the binding it could have been Victorian, but I now assume it's circa 1920 as in the final page of the publisher's adverts, mention is made of a new book 'World Perils' dealing with 'The League of Nations', which was founded following WWI. "Bible Readings for the Home Circle" contains 200 readings, in which are answered nearly 4,000 questions on important religious subjects, contributed by a large number of Bible students, with nearly 300 illustrations.

On Sale is a leather-bound undated assumed circa 1920 edition of * Bible Readings for the Home Circle * a New, Revised, and Enlarged Edition, published by The International Tract Society Ltd., Watford, UK, size approximately 8-3/4 inches x 6 inches, with 794 pages plus a 4-page publisher's booklist.

The original black leather covered hardcover with impressed decoration to front and back covers and gilt title and decoration to front and spine, is a little bumped on the extremities with some wear at the front lower spine corner, else very sound and not split, not faded, gilt bright and titles clearly legible, otherwise generally bright and very clean and tidy (see photo's 1 & 2). Inside is complete, all pages edges gilt, the endpapers have a blue cloth covering at the hinges making for greater resilience with a heavy volume and they are sound and not split (photo 3), there are two previous owners names and addresses plus a brief inscription to the reverse of the front free-endpaper, no other writing or graffiti, hinges sound with covers firmly attached, binding tight with all pages well attached, pages not torn, a small number of corners had been turned, not tanned or foxed, occasionally a small amount of pale usage soiling, otherwise generally clean and tidy.
