Up for bid a fine antique American cut glass lemonade pitcher with a Gorham sterling rim.  The piece is about 11 7/8 inches tall by 6 1/2 inches wide over the handle.  It has a ribbed body that flares outward towards the foot.  The ribs have cut decoration as shown, and the foot has a cut sunburst.  The hande has thumbprint cuts and a flat thumbpiece.  It has a wide silver rim with a rococo scroll edge.  It is monogrammed “MJN” on the side of the rim.  It is marked with the Gorham trademark, “STERLING”, “S2782” and a date code for 1898.

Condition on the piece is fairly good.  There are some small chips and bruises down the “spine” of the handle, and normal scratches to the foot.  The interior looks pretty clean.  The silver neck rim is a bit scratchy, with a few minor dings.  A fine piece of sterling mounted cut glass!
