The pinion gear IS INSTALLED, but shows a bit of corrosion - buff it with a soft wire brush and it'll be perfect.

Shaft could also use polishing, as does the commutator face. (pencil eraser works well)

I have tested each one of these with a volt/ohm meter: The impedance is correct 1.6 - 1.7 Ohm) equal between all three segments, and there are NO shorts to the shaft.  Fully up to specifications!
