1c Benjamin Franklin - Buff 
(1869 Pictorial Issue), 
USED, with an exceptional almost complete strike of the
Waterbury, Conn. “W” sans serif type 2 cancellation
(Skinner & Eno type #LS-W10 & Rohloff type #K-13),
a small portion of the town circular-date postmark is visible at upper right,
there is "a small thin spot at bottom right and a light diagonal crease,"
a very scarce Waterbury cancellation with the Rohloff  rarity rating “RRR,"
with1994 Philatelic Foundation certificate #280090,
The finest strike of this rare cancellation that Rupp Brothers has handled and possibly
the finest example known on an off-cover 1c 1869 Pictorial.

Note: Rohloff's research indicates that this cancel was in use between Dec. 30th, 1869 and January 6th, 1870. The cancellation is recorded on the 1c and 3c 1869 Pictorial Issues.
