About this book,
The book was published in 1942 during the Second World War, when many painters and sculptors were invited to submit works on the subject of the Holy War in order to raise public awareness of the war effort. Many contemporary Western painters participated, including Tsuguharu Fujita, who was active in the Paris art world. After the war, they were often criticised for this war collaboration and also kept their own mouths shut.
