Up for your consideration is a 1950's retro ceramic pink and gilt female poodle dog with her poodle pup joined together at their collars with a solid brass dog chain. The female poodle has an enchanting almost comical look about her as does her little puppy chained to her so the pup doesn't wander off and get lost. This item is made in Japan sometime after WWII, and from my research they were sticker stamped: "MADE IN JAPAN."

Oftentimes, collector's nickname art objects, and in this case the poodle's 24K gilt curly fur below her neck is a ceramicists technique nicknamed 'spaghetti ware' as it resembles curly spaghetti. This spaghetti is found on the midsection of the female poodle, and all the other gilt is what is termed 24K gold luster, and gold luster is real 24K gold particles mixed with resin and painted on a ceramic art object just before the final firing of the ceramic object in a kiln at high temperatures.

The female poodle measures approximately 8 1/4" tall X 2 1/2" wide X 1 3/4" deep, the small puppy measures approximately 3" tall X 2 1/2" long X 1 1/4" deep as both the mom and her pup are irregularly shaped. This item is a rare collectible and because they are so fragile not many survived six decades up until today. This item is in excellent condition for its age.
