The Diamond DA42 Twin Star is a light multipurpose four-seat aircraft. The first flight was made in 2002, received a certificate in May 2004.

Developed on the basis of Diamond DA40-TDI. The airframe of the aircraft is made of carbon composite materials.

First diesel-powered aircraft to fly across the Atlantic Ocean (from Canada to Portugal) within 28 hours at an average fuel consumption of 11.2 gallons per hour.
