with their churches and fortifications at the end of the 16th century. The view is further enriched by two nice cartouches, two coats of arms and typical figures in the foreground. Latin text on verso. This original engraving derives from Braun & Hogenberg's "Civitates Orbis Terrarum". It was printed in the year 1580, measures 33 x 44 cm (plate size) and is in good condition with some unobtrusive browning in margin areas.
