For sale is a 100%  Original Ww2 Luftwaffe Fliegerbluse for other ranks/ncos.

This is made of early better quality wool and not the shoddy used in later post 1943 tunics.

It has dished metal buttons to the front fly type fastening and the internal pocket and cuff fastening buttons appear to have been black but are fading to brown, so maybe bakelite? Unusually,  there are no buttons to the inside of the collar for the usual kragenbinde liner and I don't think there ever were.

Another unusual thing is that although the  lining to the torso, cuffs and shoulders is usual ribbed cotton material, the breast pockets, hip pockets and wound dressing pockets are made of an early type of ribbed rayon. This I have found too in a 1930s leather driving coat I bought, which was used by a luftwaffe officer. You will see that it appears to have been a red/orange colour before being dyed by a small fault on the wound dressing pocket and by what appears to be a burn hole in the hip pocket ( cigarette butt put away still burning maybe?)

There is an outline of a breast eagle having been attached but not of collar patches.

A small rip under the left arm has been sewn closed but doesn't show when worn or on a mannequin and fraying/rips to area where sleeves join the body, which could be darned. Overall wear to nap of cloth and storage soiling but no thinness as with late war manufacture materials or moth damage.

This is the second biggest tunic I have ever seen in 40 years of collecting,as others in my collection, as with most for sale, are only 84-98 cm chest.

This was bought for restoration but I have not had the time to do so due to work and then ill health.

My other listings include original insignia I intended to use to restore this tunic. If purchased together a discount can be negotiated
