Everyone behaves badly--given the chance.

Here we offer the first retail edition, second-year print, of the classic, canonical US novel, The Sun Also Rises, by Ernest Hemingway, published by Scribners in 1927. The misprint "stoppped" on page 181, line 26 has been corrected; but this copy does include the first edition points of "staris" instead of "stairs" on p. 169, line 34 and "BOOK THREE" instead of "BOOK III" on page 235. The book comes wrapped in the highest quality remastered facsimile of the first edition dust jacket that you can only get here, printed on coated heavyweight bond. The polymer coating on the paper ensures the brightest colors and sharpest prints, as the ink sits atop the paper rather than being absorbed into the fibers. Also included is a bookmark with collector's notes.

Boards are lightly worn and soiled (please see pics). Endpapers are uninscribed. Binding is very tight and square, text is very clean, bright, and crisp. Dust jacket comes sleeved ph-neutral mylar, ready to slip into your collection. 259 pages. The book measures approximately 7.75 x 5.5-inches.

This will make a wonderful addition to your firsts collection or a very thoughtful gift.

This title has been repeatedly banned from US schools, and it was burned in the Nazi bonfires. To see our entire shelf of banned books, please click HERE.
