Beautiful Ironstone Transferware Soup Tureen with Lid. Black and White is truly unique as blue Transferware was more common. The design does not just embellish the outside handles and lid but also the interior bowl in the Tureen as well. This piece was dated by the marking on the coordinating platter listed separately.

Illustration is typical of what was popular during the Victorian era!

Ridgway Spade Ridgway was the industry named in the mark as well as the registered design June 15, 1877.
This piece has no chips or cracks but does show discoloration and little spider web type glaze cracking. Beautiful piece nonetheless!

Tureen measures 7 by 11 inches and is 3.5 inches tall without the lid. With the lid, from top of handle to bottom is approximately 7 inches tall.
