A reproduction of the most famous chessmen ever discovered, The Isle of Lewis Chessmen.

Almost 4 complete sets of chessmen (and fewer pawns) were found in 1831 on the Isle of Lewis,
miraculously preserved in a buried vault for many centuries.

Suddenly, in 2019, a new piece was discovered!
It had been found in an antique shop, after being stored among miscellaneous family items. Incredible!

This Special edition of the Lewis Chessmen celebrates this new find, with the four rooks (standing soldiers, called ‘warders’) based on the newly discovered piece.

The pieces are colored a creamy brown “mutard”, to simulate the color of the ancient piece, discolored over a period of centuries.

King stands 3 ½ inches tall.
