Description

A large and colorful alacite lamp with a retro-modern look and still with its original alacite finial.

The lamp has a raised design of tropical flowers with leaves. The body was coated with a translucent lime green enamel, while leaving the base and the floral design the alacite’s unpainted ivory color. The lamp rests on six glass knob feet and is hollow in the interior. It has its original hardware, harp, and finial. It also still has its original cord and plug, and still works. It even has an small light to light up the base that works.

The alacite does not seem to glow under blacklight and so likely dates from after 1942 when the use of uranium oxide was diverted for the war effort.

The lamp is rated at 660 watt. A blue paper label on the inside of the lamp reads Underwriters Lab INSPECTED PORTABLE LAMP ISSUE 3846.
