Nice State of Israel Exodus 1947 Bronze Medal/Medallion; Front depicts Exodus 1947 ship, which carried Jewish immigrants from France to British Palestine in 1947, and the words Exodus 1947 in Hebrew and English, with the date 18-7-47, the date Exodus was captured by the British mid-ocean and her 4,530 passengers were deported in three British transport ships to Hamburg, Germany; reverse depicts clenched fist holding the flag of Israel breaking through a wire enclosure separating sea from land, as a symbol of the relentless struggle for fleeing immigrants and establishment of State of Israel.  Rim has emblem of the State of Israel in Hebrew and English, stamped with #0675; designed by Ruth Lubin.  Measures approx 2 3/4" diameter, in good shape, however some age tarnish around rim (see pic's), in case but no certificate or stand.
