1980 Oktoberfest Munich Stein

This item is an Oktoberfest Stein produced for the Munich, Germany Oktoberfest in 1980.   The first Oktoberfest was held in Munich in 1810 to celebrate the marriage of Crown Prince Ludwig to Princess Therese of Saxony-Hildburghausen.  It is a much anticipated event with several million people attending over two weeks each year. 

A colorful stein is produced each year by Rastal.  The one being listed here is the more common one without a lid.

The 1 liter stein is approximately 7 1/4 inches tall, and is in very good  condition.  It weighs 2 pounds and 7 ounces, and is signed by the artist on the bottom.
