Offered by Over The Blue Horizon and recently obtained in Tokyo is a richly illustrated book which remains in high-demand among advanced WWII aviation modelers:  “CAMOUFLAGE & MARKINGS OF IMPERIAL JAPANESE NAVY BOMBERS IN W.W. II” published in 1993 by the well-regarded MODEL ART Publishing Company in 1993.

This increasingly difficult-to-find, 162-page, 7.25 x 10-inch softcover provides nicely-done pictorial rundowns of each of the bombers employed by the Imperial Japanese Navy (IJN) ranging from the mainstay Aichi D3A VAL dive bomber and Nakajima B5N KATE with which the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor, to the late-war jet aircraft such as the NAKAJIMA J9Y KIKKA.  Each of the IJN Navy bomber aircraft are afforded a short section with period b/w photograph, and a profile drawing with typical markings.  Additionally, the book contains 18 pages of well-done color profiles and invaluable IJN paint color chips.  Although text is in Japanese, advanced aviation modelers and military historians with a working knowledge of the IJN will find this book fascinating, useful, and inspiring.
