Thanks for checking out my eBay listings… I offer books, vinyl record albums, fine art, jewelry and other items fresh from estate cleanouts !! These cleanouts happen for all kinds of reasons such as older people downsizing and moving.

Offered here is jewelry from a recent cleanout. All the women’s jewelry from this estate was kept in the handcrafted 6-drawer jewelry box / cabinet pictured in my photos. I ship most jewelry items via USPS (post office) in small bubble wrap lined mailers but this can vary for bigger items.

The jewelry offered in this listing is: "Estate Vintage 1980's Black + White Bird Feather Motif Drop / Dangle Earrings  !". Shiny black, white and gold tone. I think the black and white materials are acrylic but I don't know for sure. The earrings measure approx. 2 1/4" tall / high.

Many older earrings are clips / clip on or screw-back. Women today love the vintage styles of these, such as boho chic or bold 80’s. Clips or what have you protruding from the back of estate earrings can be bent out of place. For these, they’ll need adjusting back or repair / replacement. Often, the backs of earrings need cleaning, pads, replacing pads that aren’t in nice shape, etc. I leave all of this to the buyer.

Earrings for non-pierced ears are often CONVERTED by snipping or prying off existing fasteners and gluing on new posts or whatever works (E6000 brand glue, posts, etc., are sold at craft stores and online) made of your personal requirement such as sterling, surgical steel, etc. There are lots of DIY instructions and videos on this topic on the internet to look at because many women enjoy doing this with earrings.

There were only a few jewelry items from the estate that these earrings came from which had markings indicating real gold or silver. Most of the items were vintage fashion / costume jewelry. Only some pieces were marked as to the designer / brand. There were pieces by Givenchy, Aarikka Finland, Napier, Freirich, Richelieu, Trifari, etc. Some of the items still had (have) stickers or tags. They were bought at various stores from Pier 1 Imports to Lord & Taylor.

The woman who owned the jewelry seemed to be into bangles and beads type items probably starting back in the 1960’s / 70’s but also had a lot of fancier looking things. I guess she didn’t get her ears pierced as she had lots of clip on earrings. On these, I tested all the clips / clasps by opening and closing them to see if they broke. Only one did and I discarded it.

I appreciate your support of my small business !! Thanks so much, Chris Smith in New Jersey, USA.
