Jersey is from the NBA Finals era Sonics who had Gary Payton, Shawn Kemp, Sam Perkins and Detlef Schrempf. He was acquired in a trade for Kendall Gill.

Hawkins was a very solid shooting guard who spent time with the Charlotte Hornets, Chicago Bulls and Philadelphia 76ers, in addition to his time spent with the Sonics.
