Noro Morales (January 4, 1911 – January 15, 1964) was a Puerto Rican pianist and bandleader.
Alberto Amancio Beltrán (Palo Blanco, La Romana, 5 May 1923 - Connecticut, 2 February 1997) was a Dominican singer, known as "El Negrito del Batey", after his first signature tune. He mainly sang in the genres of boleroson montunomambomerengue, and guaracha. After recording in the Dominican Republic with René Hernandez' orchestra, he moved to New York City in 1961 to work with La Sonora Matancera
Angel Viloria y su Conjunto Típico Cibaeño was a merengue band performing in the US Latin community in the 1950s. It was the first band to enjoy major success in popularizing merengue music outside the Dominican Republic. The band featured Angel Viloria on the accordion (the accordion player was the traditional leader), Ramón E. García on alto saxophone, Luis Quintero on tambora and Dioris Valladares on vocals. Between 1950 and 1952, it notched up a number of hits under the New York based Ansonia Records banner of Rafael Pérez.

La Sonora Matancera is a Cuban band that played Latin American urban popular dance music. Founded in 1924 and led for more than five decades by guitarist, vocalist, composer, and producer Rogelio Martínez, musicologists consider it an icon of this type of music. Notable singers to have sung and recorded with the band include Bienvenido Granda,Daniel SantosMyrta SilvaMiguelito Valdés, Leo Marini, Celia Cruz  Nelson Pinedo, Vicentico Valdés, Estanislao "Laíto" Sureda, Alberto Beltrán, Carlos Argentino, and Celio González.
Carlos Argentino Argentinian born singer (Buenos Aires, 23 Jun. 1929-1991), alias Carlos Torres, also known as Carlos "Argentino" Torres, best known for his work with La Sonora Matancera from the mid-1950s.
