Larch is a natural water repellent wood and therefore withstands the weather conditions well. Made from 18-22mm larch which vary in thickness due to them being cut straight off the log they differ in thickness. This box has an open feature perfect for robins or nuthatches The bottom of the box has drainage holes and there is an easy to remove back panel for ease of cleaning. (We recommend cleaning your box at least once a year when nesting is over and you are sure there are no more chicks present in the box).
No two boxes are ever the same as they are totally handmade with love, care and attention to detail. Made by people with learning disabilities, part of the process of manufacturing is taken on with our work placement programme which helps young adults with autism and learning disabilities become employed.
Note our boxes do not come stained, you can add a colour if you wish we recommend using a water colour stain on your box which you much check if its safe for nature. These boxes are extremely heavy boxes, rustic in look with a smooth finish a very good quality product for the money. The price reflects the quality of the product and the skill gone into making them.
