Could be a great project ~ Vintage Mac Powerbook 520 works great connected to an external monitor - built in greyscale screen had dark plastic coating and it has been mostly removed.  The glue remmenents underneath mar the screen but it is NOT cracked.  screen is intermittent - brightness and contrast sometimes function and a cursor appears but rarely.  Viewed on an external monitor screen - everything looks good.

The GOOD - it boots reliable with the included power supply and displays well on an external monitor - includes a video adaptor or display output.  Floppy drive unit is installed.   NO batteries.  Trackpad is good.

The BAD - screen not readable mostly, might be repairable.  Hinges function but there is some binding so must open carefully.  There is tape across the lower screen seam to help hold together - see photos.
