A rare view of the city of Monrovia and mouth of Mesurado river on the coast of Liberia. This original copper engraving was published by Jean Baptiste du Halde in 1746 in "A New General Collection of Voyages and Travels". It measures circa 16 x 23 cm (platesize) and is in good condition with some browning of the paper by age.
