Perfect for a nursery, this is a vintage undated framed theorem painting by Miriam Johnson features an duck with a blue band painted on velvet. A few close-up pictures show the texture of velvet. Framed, measures 6-1/4"  X  7-3/4", in excellent condition. 

Theorem paintings was a popular form of American decorative art between 1800 and 1840, traditionally done by girls in finishing schools in the northeast.
