A lovely George III silver Hanoverian teaspoon, English sterling silver hallmarked with the lion passant and the maker's mark 'IO' which is untraced but dates to c1773. The spoon is 12.2 cm long, and weighs 13.8 grams. The reverse of the finial is engraved with the initials 'B,I M'. There is a worn hen and chicks (only hen visible) image on the back of the bowl.


Condition: The spoon has no splits or repairs, although a tiny crack in the hen image (it is not a split, and does not go all the way through). Some minor wear to the tip. The picture decoration on the back of the bowl is worn. Please see full description and photos.
