This Kit Contains

• A plastic box with a hole in the appropriate position 

• A ferrite antenna coil glued into place

• BNC panel mounted connector with flat washer, ground lug and nut

• Ceramic coupling capacitor

• BNC Male-to-Male adapter

You Will Also Need

• A low wattage soldering iron

• 60/40 solder

• Wire cutters

• Needle nose plyers

• ½” Nut driver (Optional but very helpful)

• Super Glue (Optional but helpful)

If you want to use an FY6900 DDS signal generator or other contemporary RF signal source for radio alignment, you cannot employ the old "connect a loop of wire to the output" trick. It will not work. The 6900 and many other newer signal generators often see wire loops as short circuits. That will cause the output to shut down, and potentially damage your signal generator. 

This compact coupler kit contains a loop antenna and the necessary capacitive isolation to be compatible with the FY6900 and similar devices. The plastic enclosure keeps those components safe. It measures about 2" Long x 1-1/4" Wide x 5/8" Deep. (55mm x 35mm x 15mm). Depth at the connector extends to about one-inch (25mm).  

The BNC connector makes it compatible with many contemporary generators. The included Male > Male adapter makes it easy to connect the coupler directly to your generator, as shown in the second photo. Alternately, you can use your own BNC to BNC cable of any reasonable length. If you have already purchased an FY6900, it comes with the perfect BNC cable.
