Twelve
different fold-out official New York Thruway maps, published
between 1959 and 1985.
- This colorful collection of
one dozen maps spans 25 years of the history of "The Main Street of
the Empire State" (originally called "The Mainline of
the Empire State"). The roadway's formal designation, "The Governor
Thomas E. Dewey Thruway," was adopted in 1964, but to most people who use it, it
is simply the Thruway.
- Details on the maps include connecting highways, interchange directory,
service areas, toll information, traffic regulations, and safe driving tips.
- Condition: Condition varies slightly, but all twelve maps are in very good shape,
sound and clean, complete and intact, with no damage or heavy wear. Please
see the scans and feel free to ask any questions.
- We may also have a detailed magazine article on the New
York State
Thruway, published the year it opened and illustrated with a
double-page road map and dozens of photographs, including a tollbooth
ticket dispenser and a police car using a radar gun, available
in
our
eBay store. It is
listed as
