This sketch depict this battle, which was the first Naval battle of World War II.

This is a fantastic original pencil sketch, signed and dated. You can see a British warship under attack with explosions in the water nearby. The detail is really good. There are signs of ships in the distance as well. I would be interested to learn who the author might be as I can only see part of a signature. I do not want to open the back up as it is all sealed. A really nice depiction of this significant number of the first naval battle of World War II in the south Atlantic.
