This is an ULTRA RARE Alabaster Sculpture of a Seated Nude Girl Signed by Prof. Vittorio Caradossi, ca 1900. Beautiful hand-carved alabaster figurine portrays a young nude girl seated near the sea. Signed at the back Prof. V. Caradossi. Measures: 16.5 cm high. MUSEUM PIECE!


Vittorio Caradossi was born in Italy, in 1861. He studied under Augusto Rivalta (d. 1925) at the Accademia di Belle Arti. Vittorio was later commissioned to execute a number of public monuments. Vittorio Caradossi is most remembered for his celebrated statue of the Renaissance artist Desiderio da Settignano, which was exhibited at the 1900 Paris Exposition Universelle. He specialized in depictions of celestial and ethereal nudes. Vittorio Caradossi died in 1909, in Italy.
