Hand woven merino wool from the central valley of Oaxaca, Mexico is some of the finest and softest wool there is. Zapotec wool is woven with a foot loom by the Vicente family in Teotitlan del Valle, Oaxaca. These Teotitlan master weavers use pre-Hispanic traditional methods passed down from generation to generation. Using hand spun naturally dyed yarn, Zapotec weavers create amazing designs with rich colors. There is an unmistakable handcrafted quality in each piece. Each piece is unique.
This particular woven rug has god’s eye and circle of life patterns throughout and are traditional Zapotec designs. Very tight quality weave with vivid & bright colors.
