the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, printed more than
130 years ago.
- The cartography is by George
Franklin Cram, and the image area measures
32.1 x 24.9 cm [12½" x 9¾"].
- There is fine historical and ethnographic
detail throughout, with hundreds of place names.
- The map locates roads, cities, towns,
provinces, railroads, and natural features.
- It shows the railroad line from Colombo to Matale, via
Kandy and
the spur to Kurunegala, and it labels the capitals of the various
provinces, including Anuradhapura and Jaffna, identified as Jafnapatam
on the map.
- Elevations
are depicted by hachure lines, and longitude is measured from Greenwich
and Washington.
- This is an original, authentic antique map, not
a reproduction or modern reprint, and it is fully guaranteed to be
