These shoes  are shock absorbing, waterproof, flexible, ultra lightweight and comfortable. They are made  of a lightweight EVA a a lightweight elastic material. Features include their famous anatomically shaped footbed.

As per the Birkenstock website their shoes are manufactured in two width narrow and regular.  They go on to say their narrow width is designed to accommodate an A-B width for woman and fits more like a medium than a true narrow.  Many people find that they fit the narrow width even though they don’t necessarily have narrow feet.
